April 2007 Meeting
Minutes
Meeting was held at ONB Insurance and called to order by Mary Todd with the Collect being read by Tish Scott.
Old Business:
Treasurer’s report: End of March balance: $741.00, Deposit for Flower Sale: $1,005.00, Disbursements: $521.00 to Dutch Mills for flowers, $500 to NAIW for Debbie Craig’s registration for the National Conference in Puerto Rico.
Secretary’s report will be included with the newsletter when it is e-mailed.
Committee Reports:
Awards Committee
The Awards Committee reported that the High Flyers info was sent to National on Friday and that we could check the website for winners in a week or two at naic.org.
Need nominees for Rookie of the Year, Claim Professional of the Year, and Insurance Professional of the Year. The awards this year are being sponsored by Grange, Hastings, and Progressive Insurance Companies.
Project Committee
Linda Berry reported that she has been receiving donations of food and that anyone donating food items will receive a chance to win the stained glass sun catcher that she made that she has hanging in her window. She is going to send out an e-mail to everyone at ONB to try and get some more dontations.
Ways & Means Committee
Amanda reported that we sold approx. 218 packs of flowers and made $545 profit. She will keep us posted on when they will be in and we can meet at lunch to sort.
All Industry Night Committee
The All Industry Night Committee reported that the date still needed to be determined and the members were polled to see what date worked best for the most people. The options settled on were Thursday, May 10th or Monday, May 15th. The majority preferred Monday, May 15th.
Dinner choices were presented:
Richards Farm Catering - $16 per person if we use one of the Conference Centers or $20 per person if we go to Days Inn.
Stables Steak House (Loft) - $31 per person with wait staff.
Mary called for a vote and the majority voted for Richards Farm Catering at the Days Inn.
Installation of officers will be held that night.
Education Committee
Anyone who signed up but did not show up for the Wheels of Misconception class is responsible for reimbursing the treasury the $10 that was paid for the class materials.
New Business:
Eileen reported that the Budget and Audit committee has suggested that we have a form to be submitted to the Treasurer for reimbursement of any expenses paid by members. This would make it easier to track disbursements from the bank account.
Sarah McCammon reported on the Regional Conference that she recently attended. Tish will continue to fill the role of Council Director and Debbie Craig will be her assistant.
Slate of Officers presented for next year: President – Debbie Craig, Vice President – Tina Dean, Treasurer – Jennifer Aceves, Secretary – Jennifer Moreland, Board – Amanda Lair, Kiley Shotts, Alexis Simpson, Linda Kalber, and Jennifer Thompson.
No other items of new business were brought to the table and Jennifer motioned for adjournment. Motion seconded by Tish and meeting was adjourned.
